Background leading to this report
The author previously reported on the literature records of Asaphidion tenryuensis Habu, 1978 and the record of its subspecies on Yakushima Island (Ikeda and Watanabe, 2019). Subsequently, I received an email from Seiji Morita, and after confirming additional literature records, I am noting them here.

Ikeda and Watanabe (2019) stated that it "occurs from Honshu to Kyushu," but the literature is old, and records from Hokkaido have also been confirmed. Although a complete bibliography could not be confirmed, it is believed to be mentioned in the February 2001 issue (No. 360) of the monthly magazine "Mushi" under the title "Habitat of Tenryu Medaka Chibikawa Ground Beetle in Hokkaido." It is also listed as a distributed species and a Red List species in Hokkaido (2019).
Furthermore, the record of Tokunoshima was cited in Hirano (2008) as a personal correspondence with Morita, so I quoted from Hirano (2008), but it was formally reported in Morita (1994). I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Morita for the email.
